2nd Quarter 2007
We're busy! Persistence of Vision re-unites with director J.J. Abrams for Star Trek XI, teams with Batman Begins writer David Goyer for an undisclosed project, starts pre-vis for the Jerry Bruckheimer produced G-Force, and completes visual effects final for Stephen King's 1408. 1st Quarter 2007
POV is currently in production on Dreamworks Animation's Kung Fu Panda and has also started work on Fox's The Day the Earth Stood Still.
4th Quarter 2006
POV is happy to be doing pre- and post-visualization for Warner Bros.' Get Smart, another big-budget comedy staring Steve Carrell.
David Dozoretz recently returned from Japan where he directed a short of The War of Sekigahara, a new technology project using the latest in 4k Hi-Def camera technology (a four-fold increase in resolution of normal HD).
POV has completed post-visualization work on Journey to the Center of the Earth. 800 shots in 5 weeks!
3rd Quarter 2006
POV has been begun pre- and post-visualization on Evan Almighty for Universal Studios. The film stars Steve Carrell.
David Dozoretz returns from Montreal where he wrapped production on Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D as the film's second unit director. The film, starring Brendan Fraser, will be the first feature release of 3-D stereo filmmaking using the new beam-splitter HD camera system developed by James Cameron.
2nd Quarter 2006
POV Previs was recently awarded previsualization work on Marvel Comic's Fantastic Four 2 (A 20th Century Fox Production). POV Previs completed three sequences ranging from 50 to 110 shots per sequence. Sequences were constructed through a combination of Maya and XSI platforms. A hand off to the production facilities in Vancouver occurred during the first and second week of July. The film's director is Tim Story. POV Previs wraps previsualization on Walden Media's Journey to the Center of the Earth and 20th Century Fox's Eragon. While on JTCE, POV Previs constructed previsualization for 14 different sequences, including 2 stereoscopic sequences, in a 15 week period of time. Nearly 38 minutes of animation was produced before the JTCE production team moved north to Montreal.
David Dozoretz has been offered the opportunity to join the Journey to the Center of the Earth production team as the film's second unit director. He will be working hand in hand with Eric Brevig assisting in the film's construction.
